Our Mission
Nearly 130 years ago, the Sisters of Mercy began their mission of providing health care to the St. Louis region, with a special dedication to caring for mothers, infants and children.

At St. John's Mercy Hospital, McAuley Clinic - Mercy Children's Health Services continues the mission of caring for children from birth through age 18 by offering health care services from emergency and sick care to well-baby visits.

We are committed to providing quality medical care for all patients, including those on who are on Medicaid or are uninsured.

Pediatric Services
Parents and other caregivers always want what is best for their children. And when it comes to health care, you need to rely on the expertise and support of qualified medical professionals. McAuley Clinic - Mercy Children's Health Services offers prompt, convenient, family-oriented nursing and medical care for the ones you love - your children. Our pediatric specialists offer the experience, skill and support to help you provide a healthy future for your child. McAuley Clinic - Mercy Children's Health Services provides a wide range of services including:

Sick Care - Our experienced physicians and nurse practitioners specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of childhood illnesses. If you see signs of illness in your child, call us to determine if he or she needs medical attention.

Same-day Appointments - Babies and children often become sick without warning. When you call to let us know your child needs medical care, all efforts will be made to see you that same day to help keep his or her illness from becoming worse - and to give you peace of mind.

Well exams and sports physicals - Check-ups or well exams are important ways to make sure your child is growing and progressing properly. A well exam assures you that your child is in good health. We also provide sports physicals, a requirement for your child to participate in organized team and individual sports.

Immunizations - It's important that your child receive immunizations against certain preventable, contagious illnesses. We provide all state-required immunizations (and others) beginning at birth to protect your child from these illnesses.

Health Education - Our staff is available for individual discussions or group presentations on a wide range of pediatric health education topics including nutrition, hygiene, weight loss, exercise and behavior problems.

Triage Nurse - A registered nurse is available by phone to answer questions about your child's health and talk with you about any concerns you may have about his or her growth and development.

ADD Program - Children who have difficulty paying attention and completing tasks in school or at home may have a behavioral problem called attention deficit disorder (ADD). Our trained professionals have experience diagnosing and treating children and helping families with this disorder. We also can help coordinate services through your child's school, counselor, psychologist or referring doctor.

Behavioral Health Counseling - Children who experience emotional and behavioral problems, or alcohol and other drug abuse, may need professional help. McAuley Clinic - Behavioral Health Services can refer you for a consultation with the appropriate specialist.

Specialized Consultations - For children with special needs, our staff can help arrange consultation with pediatric specialists including social workers, dietitians, behavioral health professionals and others.

Staff

Staff Pediatrician - Our staff physician Andrew Zupan, MD, is board-certified in pediatrics, and has the experience and training to provide the medical services your child needs.

Nurse Practitioners - Nurse practitioners are registered nurses with advanced training and education. Nurse practitioners are licensed to perform physical assessment and evaluation, provide treatment and write prescriptions for common childhood illnesses. They specialize in wellness care, designed to help prevent your child from becoming sick, and provide prompt, effective treatment when your child is sick or injured.

Support Staff - Our clerical associates provide receptionist services, scheduling, payment and other business services for our patients and medical staff.
